Meet Dr. Sarah Banks

I opened Basecamp Pediatric Psychology because I wanted to give families a compassionate and impactful experience. Together we can see your whole child, celebrate the wins, and find your next steps.

I offer support that goes beyond the initial diagnosis.

About me professionally

I am a Licensed Psychologist who values timely diagnosis and intervention. I specialize in the evaluation of Autism Spectrum Disorder, with significant experience in differential diagnosis. That means I have a deep understanding of many conditions and that I consider the whole child in order to make a proper diagnosis. My aim is to help you gain valuable insight into your child and to access vital services.

As a psychologist, I have a deep understanding of personalized assessment and intervention. I have multiple years of experience working with organizations that offer diagnostic and therapeutic services for neurodiverse children. I have also coached and trained clinicians as well as been a part of multidisciplinary teams. Some examples include training Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists on co-occurring mental health conditions, medical necessity of services, whole-child case conceptualization, and things that impact treatment progress.

With my background in School Psychology and ABA therapy, I bring a deep understanding of the school system and behavior to my services and recommendations. I enjoy sharing that knowledge with parents and clinicians. I have executive-level experience leading and coaching to create change and to build high-quality early intervention and diagnostic services. I am also an advocate for mental health services, such as my governor-appointed term on Colorado's Mental Health Advisory Board from 2015 to 2018. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors of the Autism Society of Colorado.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two dogs (a Catahoula mutt and a German Shorthaired Pointer). I also enjoy hiking, kayaking, trying new pizza restaurants, and catching up with friends. I train in Olympic Weightlifting four times a week for my mental and physical health. I am a native of McKinney, Texas and I have been in Colorado for over 8 years.
